ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE / ATTENDANCE


ANTI - RAGGING COMMITTEE

 

Anti Ragging Committee of University of Mumbai under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in higher Education Institutions, 2009 under section 26(1) (g) of the University Grants Commission Act,1956, has been actively operative in Burhani College.


Burhani College has constituted an anti ragging cell in accordance with Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 prohibiting any kind of ragging in the Institution. College has setup an anti ragging committee (composition of the committee displayed below) and also takes an undertaking from the students at the time of admission / promotion into next class, not to indulge in any kind of ragging. Anti ragging notices/posters are displayed on all prominent places in the college clearly indicating action against ragging. Every new term Media students are given responsibility of making awareness-creating short films against ragging which are shown on the College LCD placed in the main foyer.

ATTENDANCE:


Attendance in lectures and tutorials is compulsory as per University of Mumbai Ordinance 0.119.0.120 and o.125 stating ‘a student will be granted terms if he/she attends 75% of all the  lectures, practicals and tutorials (wherever prescribed).

STUDENTS JOINING THE COLLEGE ARE STRICTLY BOUND BY THE RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BELOW WILL LEAD TO STRICT DISCIPLINARY ACTION:

KEEP YOUR CELL PHONES ON SILENT MODE WHEN IN THE CLASS ROOMS & CORRIDORS.

COLLEGE PROPERTY

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL COLLEGE PROPERTY.  THEY WILL BE LIABLE FOR PENALITY & DISCIPLINARY ACTION IN CASE OF ANY DAMAGE DONE BY THEM TO THE COLLEGE PROPERTY LIKE BLACKBOARDS, ELECTRICAL FITTINGS, FURNITURE, WINDOWS AND WALLS.

BEHAVIOUR

  1. STUDENTS SHOULD MAINTAIN A TOTAL DISCIPLINE IN THE COLLEGE AND FULLY ABIDE BY THE RULES AT ALL TIMES. DISPLAY A VALID COLLEGE ID CARD ON PERSON IS COMPULSORY.
  2. IN SUBORDINATION AND VULGAR LANGUAGE OR MISCONDUCT ON THE PART OF A STUDENT ARE SUFFICIENT REASONS FOR HIS/HER SUSPENSION OR DISMISAL FROM THE COLLEGE.
  3. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO TAKE ACTIVE PART IN CURRENT POLITICS.
  4. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO READ THE NOTICE BOARD REGULARLY FOR IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE BY THE COLLEGE AUTHORITIES FROM TIME TO TIME. THEY WILL NOT BE EXCUSED OR BE GIVEN ANY CONSCESSION ON GROUNDS OF IGNORANCE.
  5. SMOKING/ DRINKING/ CHEWING TOBACCO & SPITTING BUBBLE GUM ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
  6. PHOTOGRAPHY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED


EXAMINATION

STUDENTS ARE FORWARNED NOT TO USE ANY UNFAIR MEANS DURING AN EXAMINATION. IF FOUND GUILTY, STRICT ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST SUCH STUDENTS.

SURVEILLANCE

STUDENTS ARE INFORMED THAT ALL OPEN AND COMMON AREAS IN THE COLLEGE ARE UNDER CCTV SURVEILLANCE.
